Tips for Selecting Industrial 150mm Flap Discs

Every abrasive disc is printed with its maximum rated speed. For our 150mm model, the maximum RPM is 9800.

We carry out spin tests at 1.5 to 1.8 times the rated speed to guarantee absolute safety before delivery.

The spin test for flap discs mainly checks two critical parts: the tensile strength of the fiberglass backing pad, and the bonding adhesive between abrasive flaps and the pad. Our fiberglass backing pads carry a 5%~10% higher safety margin than standard materials, which is the most popular choice worldwide.

In addition, the density, length and width of abrasive flaps determine the service life. For heavy-duty construction applications, we always recommend denser, longer and wider flaps for better durability and fewer replacements
