107mm Cutting Disc Burst Test｜Survived at 23000 RPM Beyond Critical Speed

The test specimen is a 107 mm cut-off wheel. Visual inspection is performed to reject samples with notches, cracks, chipped edges, moisture-induced deformation.

Inspect the test machine spindle, flanges and fixtures. The flange size shall match the cut-off wheel. Tightening torque shall follow standard requirements to prevent clamping slippage.

Reference burst-critical value for this sample: 22918 rpm, linear velocity 80 m/s.

We raise the test-machine rotational speed to 23000 rpm, exceeding the critical burst index.

After continuous high-speed operation, open the protective chamber. As can be observed:
