125‑6 Grinding Disc Ultimate Burst Test | What Happens at 23000 RPM

Created on 09.09
The test sample is a 125 mm×6 grinding disc. Conduct visual inspection and reject specimens with notches, cracks, edge chipping or moisture-induced deformation.
Inspect the test machine spindle, flanges and fixtures. The flange specifications shall match the grinding disc. Tightening torque shall be implemented in strict accordance with standards to prevent clamping slippage.
Reference critical burst values for this sample: 18335 rpm, peripheral speed 80 m/s.
Increase the speed of the test machine to over 23000 rpm, exceeding the critical burst parameters.
Upon completion of the high-speed running test, open the protective chamber. It can be observed that the 125 mm×6 grinding disc has fractured completely with satisfactory burst performance
